What we did For centuries, people have explored the world, collected what they found, and documented it so others could see it too. Taxidermy specimens are part of that story, each one a record of someone’s discovery. Drawings of Dead Stuff From Museums adds the next chapter: an art book documenting artifacts found at roadside attractions, natural history museums, and nature centers across the country. Using vibrant color palettes and expressive mark-making, I reimagined these preserved animals beyond their glass cases, giving them back a sense of spirit and personality. Each book came with a limited-edition print. The result The book became its own act of exploration and record-keeping, carrying forward a long tradition of discovery while inviting readers to see familiar museum specimens with fresh eyes.
